With active participation of all villagers, we created a beautiful community garden in 2.5acres in Bharapar Village, Abdasa district of Kachchh. The purpose of the garden to be an outdoor social space was already fulfilled when the villagers came together to plant multiple fruit trees in guilds and lots of flowers to make it a sensory garden. Phase 2 will see them make creatively designed vegetable beds to provide fresh and chemical free harvest for each family and share the joy of gardening. This space has also doubled up as a training center for us to talk about different styles of making beds, making compost, cover crops & olla systems.
